Do I need accounting software?

If you are using excel spreadsheets or worse yet… a shoebox - stop! There are solutions out there for you that will make your life easier!

I get a lot of.. ‘but my business is too small to use accounting software’ or ‘I don’t have time to do the bookkeeping’. But let me tell you, if you are spending time putting the information into a spreadsheet then you have time for accounting software and in terms of cost, you need to consider it is actually an investment. For example, if it takes you 3 hours to go through and summarise your income and expenses in a spreadsheet, that is time you could be working on your business and making sales - lets say that’s $50 per hour extra you could be making… then you can afford to spend $150 on accounting software subscriptions as you are making the sales to offset this!

And the biggest thing is you will know what you are making then and there - not waiting until the end of financial year to see what you made!
